A Family Reunited

By all accounts, Murray Silverstein deserves a Nobel Prize for his indefatigable dedication and incredible generosity with his time, via the St. Petersburg Community Law Foundation.

This is such a good news story, obviously for the entire Couture family (including Tank and Nila--look at their happy smiling faces!), and adds to the solid foundation of legal history that says, "no, it is NOT okay to steal other people's pets in a time of disaster."

Hooray!

Thank you for putting this story out there for all to see. I read the first press release, but it still brought tears of joy when I read your post. Happy endings! New beginnings! It is just so wonderful this family got back together again.

reuniter, what you said is definitely worth repeating "no, it is NOT okay to steal other people's pets in a time of disaster" ....

no matter what kind of SPIN you try to put on it :(

Hooray for Master Tank and Nila and their family who can finally be together at long last. As it should be.

And Murray Silverstein and his dedicated firm and Mr. Cummings need to celebrate - and go on vacation (like Rineker and Bondi's legal teams who kept getting postponements in the case "due to conflicting vaction schedules" must be nice....) BUT MrS&Co actually earned it!!

"Bondi will get to visit the dog they call Master Tank. He will live inside. Bondi will pay for his food and medication - not a condition of the settlement, but something she offered." according to an article by her friendly St. Petersburg Times writer Sue Carlton.

Sooo I find it terribly interesting that aside from the terms of the settlement remaining CONFIDENTIAL (which perhaps set forth that Bondi and Rineker not be sued for damages?) that Bondi made darn sure EVERYONE KNEW that she had oh so magnanimously (patronizingly!) offered to provide food and medication for Master Tank for life!

As well as "regular visitation rights" (joint custody?!) AND noted that she had been assured that the dog will be treated as an indoor one (which is okay as long as Tank and Nila get to romp and play outside too).

Bondi needs to get a hobby....
